Can I add a statement to my Equifax credit report?

If you disputed an item and the investigation did not resolve the dispute, you have the right to add a brief 100-word statement to your Equifax credit report, free of charge, explaining the nature of your dispute. Your Consumer Statement will become part of your credit report, and will be included each time your credit report is accessed.

You may submit your Consumer Statement in writing to the below address:

Equifax Information Services LLC
PO Box 740256
Atlanta, GA  30374-0256

You may also add a Consumer Statement to your consumer report online at https://www.equifax.com/personal/credit-report-services/credit-dispute/.

If you have any questions about placing a Consumer Statement, or the content of a Consumer Statement, you may call an Equifax Customer Service Agent.  Call (866) 349-5191: agents are available from 8 a.m. to midnight ET, 7 days a week.

To remove the Consumer Statement, you may do so by any of the methods above.
