A Connection to Home Ownership

June 05, 2023

Home ownership can be an important step in greater economic mobility for individuals and families. It can also unlock greater financial security, help build generational wealth and revitalize local communities.

The Equifax Foundation supports nonprofit organizations in the communities that we live and work. Prosperity Connection is one of our partners that offers education and coaching to help their clients build confidence, knowledge and skills that enhance their financial well-being.

Prosperity Connection partners with other local agencies to help clients achieve their financial goals. Specifically, the St. Joseph Housing Initiative (SJHI) provides educational classes that help potential first time homeowners navigate the home-buying process. SJHI also refurbishes dilapidated properties, works with class graduates to find affordable financing and down payment assistance, and helps connect home buyers with their first home.

Prosperity Connection is a key partner of the Equifax Foundation. Since 2016, they have helped over 22,000 people in the St. Louis area reduce or eliminate over $1.7M of debt*. Their credit coaches help educate people about the importance of credit, how to find and improve a credit score and how to responsibly access financial opportunity that sets people on a path to reaching their financial goals.

Equifax delivers insights that power financial opportunity. It’s part of our commitment to driving a more inclusive financial ecosystem and help people live their financial best. Learn more about the work we’re doing at equifax.com/financialinclusion
