Kount Recognized With International Cybersecurity Awards

October 01, 2021

KOUNT, AN EQUIFAX COMPANY, was honored in September with several industry awards for its groundbreaking technologies in cybersecurity. Kount, which was acquired by Equifax in 2021, delivers real-time fraud prevention and account protection, and allows more than 9,000 leading brands and payment providers to customize customer experiences.

Kount was recognized in two categories in Juniper Research’s Future Digital Awards for Fintech & Payments. Based in England, Juniper Research recognizes the most impactful financial products and services operating across numerous areas, including banking, fraud and security, and retail and payments.

Kount was a platinum award winner in the “AI in Fraud Prevention Innovation” category and a gold award winner in the “Fraud Detection and Prevention Platform” category for its Identity Trust Platform. The solution is designed to prevent digital fraud and protect the entire customer journey by establishing identity trust – a level of trust or risk behind account creation, login and payment events.

“We believe that identity trust is, truly, the future of e-commerce and digital fraud prevention,” said Brad Wiskirchen, senior vice president and general manager of Kount. “It is what can make frictionless experiences and account protection possible. Kount is thrilled to be recognized in Juniper Research’s Future Digital Awards in the AI and fraud detection categories. This honor belongs to every person on our amazing team who works tirelessly to make the Kount Identity Trust Global Network what it is.”

In another win, The CyberSecurity Breakthrough Awards selected Kount as “Overall Fraud Prevention Solution of the Year” winner in its fifth annual awards program. CyberSecurity Breakthrough is a leading independent market intelligence organization that recognizes the top companies, technologies and products in the global information security market. Kount was honored for its Identity Trust Platform.

“Post-COVID, e-commerce and digital experiences have revolutionized the lives of billions of consumers and businesses around the world in the last year,” said Wiskirchen. “As digital transformation and innovation have accelerated, we have seen companies across industries working to balance security requirements with the need to provide trustworthy and seamless experiences for their end users. We are excited for Kount’s solutions to be recognized by CyberSecurity Breakthrough for their role in helping our customers proactively protect against digital threats.”

The result of a strong patent portfolio, the Kount Identity Trust Global Network uses artificial intelligence and both supervised and unsupervised machine learning to link trust and fraud data signals from 32 billion digital interactions, 17 billion devices, and five billion annual transactions across 200 countries and territories. As more signals are collected and combined with Kount’s AI-driven analytic insights, they become more predictive, helping to prevent digital fraud and protect against account takeovers in real time while enabling personalized customer experiences.

The CyberSecurity Breakthrough Awards honor excellence and recognize the innovation, hard work, and success of companies in a range of information security categories, including cloud security, threat detection, risk management, fraud prevention, mobile security, email security, and more. This year’s program attracted more than 4,000 nominations from more than 20 countries.

Mark Luber, chief product officer for U.S. Information Solutions at Equifax, offered his congratulations to the Kount team for these industry accolades. “These awards are a testament to Kount’s dedication to helping organizations protect identities and maintain trust in an ever-increasing digital marketplace,” he said. “We couldn’t be more proud to have Kount as part of the Equifax family.”
