Equifax Focuses on Sustainability, Environmental Responsibility for New Global Offices

January 18, 2024

AS EQUIFAX OPENS NEW OFFICES GLOBALLY, sustainability and environmental responsibility remain a top priority as we pursue our pledge to reach net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2040, a commitment enabled by the Equifax Cloud™ transformation.

Our new offices in Australia and the United Kingdom not only offer an opportunity to reduce energy consumption by utilizing more efficient infrastructure, but also connect and support the local customs and traditions of the communities.

Sydney:

Equifax opened a new office with 370 desks, plus more than 260 flexible working spaces for our Australian and New Zealand headquarters in the sustainably-designed Blue & William building in North Sydney in October 2023.

“Equifax is thrilled to officially open our new office at Blue & William in North Sydney, bringing our Sydney based teams together in one location. The inspiring, modern space provides opportunity for greater collaboration and innovation, while honoring our commitment to sustainability. I am confident our new work environment will enable flexible and positive ways of working, contributing to a vibrant culture, to support our customers and help us attract the best talent,” said Melanie Cochrane, Group Managing Director A/NZ, Equifax.

The building achieved the 5 Star Green Star Design and As Built Rating by the Green Building Council of Australia, as well as the 5.5 Stars National Australian Built Environment Rating System (NABERS) Base Building Energy Rating.

Equifax reused 49% of the furniture from the prior office and sold the rest to raise funds for several charities across Australia and New Zealand.

The development also features a landscaped wellness garden, and multiple open spaces for outdoor meetings and events, an on-site family run business, Northbrew Café, and easy access to multiple alternative commuting options.

UK/Nottingham:

Equifax UK opened a new 300-person office in the sustainably-designed EastWest Building in Nottingham in August 2023.

The new office uses 30% less energy than the previous office, which is in step with the goals for Nottingham to lead the way in targeting carbon net zero.

As part of the net-zero pledge, Equifax is implementing a large number of environmental plans including recycling initiatives, discounts to local cafes to encourage less food miles and transport incentives.

The building is on track to hit a target of 100% diversion from landfill, recycling as much of its waste as possible. It also offers cycling facilities, showers and lockers, to encourage cycle-to-work plans, boosting our environmental credentials.
