What should I do if I’ve lost important financial documents after a natural disaster or national emergency?

Contact the relevant government agencies to replace your missing documents. These include your driver's license, birth certificates and passports for replacements. Review all bank, credit card, and other financial statements for unauthorized transactions. Get new credit reports from all three nationwide credit reporting agencies. Look for any suspicious activity, accounts you didn't open, or unauthorized inquiries.
