What is a Credit Report Dispute?

A credit report dispute is when you ask Equifax® to investigate information on your credit report that seems inaccurate or incorrect to you. You should regularly review things on your credit report, such as personal information, credit accounts, collections, bankruptcies, and credit inquiries. You should file a credit dispute if you see information that seems like it needs to be more accurate or correct.

To file a dispute on your Equifax credit report, go to the My Credit tab and click on the “File a dispute” button.
