How do I supply Identification documents?

To help us to verify your identity and ensure complete security of your information we need you to send us the following copy of documents:

  • A recent copy of a utility bill / bank statement (issued within the last 8 weeks & addressed to you at your current address)
  • A copy of 1 of the following government issued documents (Driving Licence / Passport / Birth Certificate)

These documents can be sent to us using any of the following methods:

Method 1 (Quickest and most secure method)

Go to our Secure On-line Service at www.equifax.co.uk/ask and follow the instructions below. (Typically takes 1-2 business days)

Step 1

Select your Product, select your Category as 'I need to confirm personal details - Verify Me' and click the 'Proceed to Ask a Question' button

Fill in the on-line form  (We recommend you use your E-Mail as your 'User ID') and attach your Verification documents.

  • A recent copy of a utility bill / bank statement (issued within the last 8 weeks & addressed to you at your current address)
  • A copy of 1 of the following government issued documents (Driving Licence / Passport / Birth Certificate)

To Attach Verification Documents

  1. Scan the documents to your computer (using a scanner or digital camera)
  2. Click on 'Browse' button towards the bottom of the on-line form
  3. Locate the scanned document on your computer and select it.
  4. Click on 'Add another Attachment' and repeat steps 1 - 3 to add second and subsequent documents.

Select "Submit Question".

  • Step 2(Previous users will skip Step 2)

To ensure the security of your information you need to set a password for your "Ask a Question" account, and provide contact details such as your name, date of birth and address details.

Select "Create Account".

  • Step 3

Select "Finish Submitting Question".

Step 4

Once your Question has been Submitted you will receive a reference/incident number. If you need to add information to your question, or submit another question at a later date, you can do so by updating it through the questions sub area of the 'My Stuff' tab.

Method 2

Post a copy/ies of your verification documents to the below address. (Typically takes 1-2 business days from receipt of letter)

Please make sure you:

  1. Include your Equifax Report Reference Number
  2. Clearly mark your letter "For Attention of Manual Verification"

Method 3

  1. Fax the verification documents to 08700 104 527 (Typically takes 48 Hours)
  2. Include your Equifax Report Reference Number
  3. Clearly mark your fax "For Attention of Manual Verification"
