When is an Identity Report useful?
An Equifax Identity Report can be useful in many different types of situations, especially if you are
considering doing business with someone you don't know. When you share your Identity Report, you're
making a statement that you're willing to share a verification of your identity and, if you choose, your
credit standing. When you review someone's Identity Report, you are able to see high-level indicators
that may help you feel more comfortable that the other person is credible.
Who should order an Identity Report?
Anyone who might be engaging in a person-to-person transaction with someone that they don't know
can benefit from Equifax Identity Report. For example, if you are a landlord, if you're buying or selling a
car, listing an item for sale on a Classifieds section, even if you're looking for a nanny or contractor,
requesting to review someone's Identity Report can be a good first step towards a successful
transaction.
When you decide to share your own Identity Report, Equifax shares a snapshot of your identity
information and, if you choose, a summary of your credit standing with anyone you specify. This is done
securely and only at your request, so you're always in control. This can help you "stand out from the
crowd" whether you're applying to rent an apartment, looking to buy merchandise online, or many
other situations.
What's included in the Identity Report?
If you're ordering your own Identity Report, it will include a snapshot of your identity information,
including your full name, date of birth, address, aliases, and three key supporting indicators that "you
are who you say you are". In addition, your Report includes your Equifax Credit Score Card™, which is a
high-level summary of your credit score range. Your Identity Report is available to you for 30 days, and
it does not update.
If you're reviewing someone else's Identity Report, you will need a Report ID# to get started. When
you log in or register using the Report ID, you will see the shared version of the Subject's Identity
Report. The shared version will include identity verification, including their name, city, state, and age
range. You will also see other high-level identity indicators, including a check that their Social Security
number isn't associated with fraud, and that their address is a valid residence. If the Subject shares their
Equifax Credit Score Card™ with you, you will see their credit score range along with a descriptor.
The contents of the shared report do not update and are only available to be viewed for 14 days.

to communicate with the other person and decide what works best in your situation.
How do I share my Report?
After you order your Identity Report, simply click the "Share Report" link located in the top section and
in the Mailbox of your Identity Report to share it. You will be prompted to enter the name and email
address of the individual you wish to share your report with. You will also have the ability to choose
whether to include your Equifax Credit Score Card™ when sharing the report.
Remember, once you obtain your Identity Report, the information in it and the summary information on
a Shared Report do not update.
Who can see my Identity Report?
The summary version of Your Identity Report will be seen only by those people you specifically authorize
to view your Report. When you click the "Share Report" icon in your product dashboard, you will be
shown a preview of how it will look to someone else before you share it, so you can decide whether or
not you want to share your Report.
How long do I have access to an Identity Report?
If you order your own Identity Report, you have access to it for 30 days. Your report does not update.
When an Identity Report is shared with you, you have 14 days to view it before it expires. If you try to
use the Report ID after day 14, you will not have access to the shared Identity Report. At that point, you
will need to request a new Report ID from the other person.
Can I prevent a Reviewer from accessing a Report?
Once you share your Report, you may prevent a Reviewer from accessing it by selecting their email
address and clicking the "Delete" button in your Identity Report Mailbox. If this person has already
viewed your report, this will prevent him/her from accessing it again in the future.
What happens when my product expires?
When your product expires, no one will be able to access your Identity Report.
Can I share my Identity Report with anyone, for any reason?
Yes. You don't need a "reason" to share your Report, or to view someone else's Identity Report.
Identity Reports can be helpful in lots of different person-to-person transactions, from renting an
apartment to shopping for a used car. Identity Report was created to help people transact with greater
confidence.
Can I dispute the contents of my own Identity Report?
No, but you can dispute inaccuracies on your Equifax Credit Report™, a copy of which is included with
your Identity Report. For more information on how to dispute information in your Equifax Credit
Report, click here
I just got an email from Equifax with a Report ID#. What do I do next?
When you receive a Report ID email, you have 14 days to review the Identity Report before it expires.
To get started, click the link in your email, or Enter the Report ID on this page. Next, you will be
prompted to Register or Log in to the Equifax Member Center. The Shared Report will be displayed for
you in your Member Center.
Why can't I print or email the Shared Report?
The Shared Report is available for your viewing only, and cannot be printed or shared with others.
I've already viewed someone's Shared Report. What happens next?
This part is up to you. Now that you have seen the information in this person's Identity Report about
their identity and, if applicable, their credit, you need to decide what next steps make sense for you.
Always use common sense:if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Always be careful when
dealing with people you don't know.
What is the Equifax Credit Score Card™?
The Equifax Credit Score Card is a component of the Identity Report that displays your credit score
range, as well as a description of that range-such as "Average" or "Above Average". Your credit score
range is calculated based on the information in your Equifax Credit Report and it does not update during
the 30 days that your Identity Report is active.
If you choose not to share your Credit Score Card with someone else, simply un-check the "Share Credit
Summary" checkbox in the "Share My Report" section of your product.
