THE HAT GROUP OF ACCOUNTANTS ENHANCES ANTI-MONEY LAUNDERING SERVICES FOR ITS MEMBERS

Equifax appointed as preferred supplier of anti-money laundering and business checks by accountancy training consortium

London, June 2014 – Responding to the continued focus on regulation in the financial services sector, the HAT Group of Accountants has enhanced the compliance services it offers to its 150 plus members. Consumer and business insight expert, Equifax, has been appointed as the sole supplier of anti-money laundering and business checks for members of the HAT Group, helping them to stay compliant in their business operations.

The HAT Group provides training and compliance services to accountancy firms to support them in meeting regulatory requirements.

“We chose Equifax because of its reputation as an innovator in the anti-money laundering field” explained Roger Morris, Compliance and Advisory Director of the HAT Group. “By working with Equifax, we can enable our members to perform the required checks on their customers, quickly and effectively online, rather than using paper based processes which are slow and vulnerable to fraud. We, therefore, believe our partnership with Equifax will help our members reduce the risk of fraud without compromising their customer service.”

“The HAT Group will now be offering the Equifax anti-money laundering and business checks at preferential rates thereby providing an important benefit for their existing and new members”, added Johanna Edwards, Sales Director, Equifax. “We have previously worked with The Law Society and ABCUL (Association of British Credit Unions Limited) and this partnership with the HAT Group builds on our established reputation in the professional services sector.”
